Okay, so I promised to try to post more than just links and blurbs to my new releases, but I have a handful I totally blew off the past few months, so let me play catch-up for a moment and get these out of my system:
Lesser of Two Evils was written for a class I took over the summer at the Visual Arts Center of Richmond.
Jared Harrison has never been able to please his father. In an effort to impress him, Jared goes to the same college his father graduated from, and even majors in pre-law, just like his old man.
Unfortunately, neither announcement wins him any “son of the year” awards.
Away at school, Jared meets — and falls in love with — a fellow student named Larry. Their relationship deepens, but Jared isn’t out to his parents, so he tries very hard to keep both parts of his life separate.
Until Larry asks to meet Jared’s family.
Jared knows his sexuality will only distant him further from his father. Unless he can find some way to soften the blow …
Playing the Field: Victory Lap is the latest addition to my ongoing series, Playing the Field.
At 33, Josh Helton isn’t exactly on top of his game. Overweight and out of shape, he’s content with his lazy lifestyle until he starts having chest pains.
That wakes him up. After a hard look at his life, he realizes he isn’t where he wants to be. His body needs work, and his love life does, too. Ditching his abusive boyfriend is just the beginning. Josh takes up running to get fit, and promises himself he’ll run the annual Richmond 10K.
It’s on an early morning jog that he meets Chad, a sexy bicyclist who’s everything Josh has always wanted in a guy. But Josh isn’t confident in himself any more … so it’s up to Chad to make the first move.
Infected Heart is my first (and most likely last) zombie story.
The population of Richmond, Virginia, has been infected with a virus that turns them into zombies. Former med student Rich Murdoch spends his days in Carytown searching for survivors, and his nights in a MCV laboratory searching for a cure. Some days, he feels like he’s the only person left in the world, until he rescues plucky college co-ed Brandi from a zombie attack. He takes her back to the lab, where he’s set up a safe house.
But it isn’t her survival Rich has in mind.
Rich knows more about the virus than he admits — he should, he created it, despite the misgivings of his lover and lab partner, Donnie. Rich has a very selfish reason to cure the virus, but will he find one in time to save the man he loves?
