Today’s guest is J.C. Jaynes, whose first M/M erotic romance novel Long Road Home is available now!
About Long Road Home:
Long Road Home was truly a labor of love for me. There is something about the added struggle in the M/M romance that called to me. For the majority of couples, one meets, dates, falls in love. But for a same-sex couple, there are all the additional complexities involved.
They meet. Sure, but then there is the not only the uncertainty of another’s reaction, but the additional uncertainty of the other person’s sexuality.
They date. Can a man feel comfortable walking up to the man he has asked out and in the middle of a crowded bar greet him with a kiss, or freely show him the level of his attraction?
They fall in love. Can a man run into the street and shout his love for another man without even the slightest hesitation that his family and friends will smile with him?
It’s those underlying struggles which the majority of couples take for granted that make this genre so much more appealing to read and yes, write about.
So, after reading hundreds of novels, several characters took shape in my head and demanded I tell their stories. And in Long Road Home, I did my best to do just that.
What should have been a beautiful new beginning comes undone by the hatred and envy of another.
Ten years ago, Kaine Keeley watched in horror as the love of his life turned his back on him, taking with him that new beginning. No longer the penniless, shy boy he once was, Kaine is now ready to fight to take back what was stolen from him.
Graeson Hardin once thought that Kaine was worth fighting for. But after witnessing a crushing betrayal he ran away. He wants nothing now but to live his life of solitude, insulated from a past that almost destroyed him.
One of these men has gained the strength to confront the past. Can two former lovers whose future was cruelly stolen from them, overcome the evil and treachery that may still be working to keep them apart?
About J.C. Jaynes:
I am a native Houstonian, with a deep love of Texas, especially our gorgeous Hill Country. I am mother to five awesome children who, like their mom, are all weird and quite possibly a little bit nutty. I absolutely love both reading and writing about love and lovers.
