A.E. Ryecart talks about The Story of Love

Today I invited A.E. Ryecart to talk about her new book, The Story of Love, which is only available on Kindle!

About The Story of Love:

When I started writing The Story of Love, I knew I had one hell of a job on my hands. The book is the second in my Urban Love series, and Archie and Zack made their debut in book one, Loose Connection. I love writing difficult characters, characters who aren’t cookie-cutter and who act in ways and make choices that are dubious, open to question or just downright wrong. Zack fits the bill down to a T. As he was such a difficult character in Loose Connection, I wanted to give some insight into why he is like he is, and to show a side to him that he keeps hidden from the world and lets only Archie, his long-term boyfriend, see.

But it wasn’t just Zack who I needed to strip away, but Archie too. The affable, easy-going man from Loose Connection has a hard and unbending side to him that is only revealed in The Story of Love, and it is this characteristic that forces Zack to make the choices — right or wrong — that he does.

This book was a challenge to write, not only because I had two established characters who needed to be developed further, but also because of the storyline itself. I wanted to give my two lads a tale that wasn’t obvious or predictable, but one that was befitting their complicated relationship.

I hope you enjoy The Story of Love. Be warned, it’s full of angst and high emotion, and although Archie and Zack do reach their hard-fought for HEA, you may just want to throw your ereader against the wall and scream and shout at them from time to time!

No strings. No names. No repeats. Archie Jones and Zack Lorrimer-Grant’s ground rules have always kept them safe — until now.

Getting down and dirty with anonymous hook-ups is a game Archie and Zack have always played. It keeps life fresh and exciting and everybody’s having fun. Aren’t they?

Archie isn’t. The hook-ups stopped being fun long ago. It’s a game he wishes he’d never started and he wants to stop playing. Now. Right now.

The men keep Zack’s fear at bay. Fear that without them, Archie will realise Zack alone will never be enough to make him truly happy.

Terry Franklin isn’t a hook-up. He’s far more dangerous, and Archie is determined to do whatever it takes to keep the man out of their bed and out of their life.

Where Archie sees a threat, Zack sees a kindred spirit. Terry is the lifeline Zack never knew he needed, but this lifeline could mean the death of him and Archie …

The Story of Love is the second in the Urban Love Contemporary Gay Romance series but can be read as a stand-alone. If you love MM romance laced with angst and high emotion and MCs complex, multi-faceted men facing up to and overcoming challenges against all the odds, A.E. Ryecart’s story of Archie and Zack will leave you breathless.

Note: The Story of Love is an MM romance, not MMM.

About A.E. Ryecart:

A born and bred Londoner, A.E. Ryecart may now live somewhere greener but the city is in her DNA, which is why her stories are set in present-day London, providing a thrilling, metropolitan backdrop to the main action.

Much of her writing takes place in a local café, and cafés, pubs, and restaurants feature strongly in her stories. Somewhere that sells coffee and cake? That’s not a bad place in which to set a story!
