For those of you interested, I have posted another free e-book on my writing site. I wrote the story a few years ago but it wasn’t long enough to publish on its own so I wasn’t sure what to do with it until Paperback Writer posted an E-Book Challenge.
Entitled “While We Wait,” the e-book contains a 27-page story (11,500 words) about a young college student named Jason who spends his weekends hopping from one party to the next looking for a good time. His promiscuous lifestyle finally begins to catch up with him and as the story opens, he finds himself sitting in the waiting room of a doctor’s office with a burning pain in his groin.
While filling out the necessary paperwork, he sees a gay couple whose affection and obvious love for each other make him feel excluded and alone. The brief encounter with Wesley, a guy Jason’s own age, and Wesley’s much older lover Grey Fordham causes Jason to take an uncomfortable look at his own loneliness.
Be warned ~ while the linear plot itself does not contain any graphic sex scenes, Jason spends a lot of time imagining how it would feel to have a single lover or an older man, and in his mind he dreams up a few tender moments between the two lovers.
So … if you’re still interested in reading the story, click the image above to open the page on my writing site where you can download the file. Enjoy!
